Suite au relatif échec de son précédent album en anglais
"A New Day Has Come" (
8 millions de ventes, tout de même), Céline Dion décide de revenir en force en 2003 : 2 albums - un en anglais, un en français- et le début de ses concerts à Las Vegas. On a l'impression qu'en 2003, Céline surenchérit pour assurer son hégémonie mondiale.
Première étape : la sortie d'un nouvel album en anglais intitulé
"One Heart". La réalisation de ce nouvel opus n'a pas été très compliquée, puisqu'il n'y a pas eu d'enregistrement spécifique : lors de la confection de
"A New Day Has Come", à l'été 2001, Céline Dion a enregistré près de
70 titres.
"One Heart" est donc composé de titres non gardés pour
"A New Day Has Come". Céline à l'embarras du choix (et a encore quelques 3 albums en anglais déjà en boîte, si elle le souhaite !!). Le premier single est lancé à la radio le
14 janvier 2003. Il s'agit d'une reprise d'un titre interprété par
Roy Orbison, puis
Cindy Lauper :
"I Drove All Night". Mais surtout, ce single constitue la bande sonore de la nouvelle campagne de
Chrysler, car Céline vient de signer un nouveau contrat avec le constructeur automobile américain. A noter, par ailleurs, que Céline Dion sort son propre
parfum et que ce nouvel album,
"One Heart" sent le parfum Dion ! Du coup, aujourd'hui, on a parfois le sentiment que Céline Dion (ou son entourage) s'intéresse plus à son statut de star qu'à celui de chanteuse. Mais, particulièrement bien managée, Céline sait jouer sur différents tableaux.
La fin de l'année 2003 est en effet marquée par la sortie d'un nouvel album en français, enregistré en partie à Las Vegas, entre Novembre 2002 et Janvier 2003. C'est le troisième opus réalisé par
Jean-Jacques Goldman, avec les participations de
Maxime Le Forestier (à qui on doit un texte
"Allongée") et
Jacques Vénéruso (musicien qui à composé le duo avec Garou,
"Sous le Vent").**
